The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is cheap, little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.
But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have risen the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually come into sharp focus.
In an area that has one of the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one company is taking advantage of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
