The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is low-cost, often leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have pressed up the price of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.
In an area that has among the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one company is making the most of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's established the Middle East's first plan to oil into biodiesel. It's showing successful too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
